Platinum Series

Pyramid Platinum PT1-LB4-USA Bill Acceptor (24V DC MDB)

MDB Platinum for vending controllers. It is powered and run over the standard 24V MDB bus, and the harness is already installed.

The PT1-LB4-USA is the vending-machine version of the Platinum. Option 4 in its part code is Pyramid's MDB build, so the acceptor gets its power and its two-way communication from the vending machine controller over the industry-standard Multi-Drop Bus. It can share that bus with the coin changer and a cashless reader. Pyramid ships it with the MDB harness (P/N 05AA0038) already installed, so most installs come down to mounting the unit and plugging it into the bus. The LB in the part number means a locking-type 500-note cassette, and the unit is set up for US notes.

Key features

  • MDB interface for snack, drink and combo vending controllers
  • Accepts 24 to 40 VDC from the MDB bus, so no separate supply is needed
  • MDB harness P/N 05AA0038 comes installed from the factory
  • Two-way serial link, so the VMC can control and query the acceptor
  • Locking-type 500-note cassette (the L and B in the part number)

Installation & setup notes

The standard MDB connector carries +24 VDC on pin 1, DC return on pin 2, Master Receive on pin 4, Master Transmit on pin 5 and communications common on pin 6. Pin 3 is not used. If the factory harness doesn't reach your controller, Pyramid sells a longer version.

Once the VMC detects the acceptor, it decides which notes to accept and when. Enabling notes is handled in the vending machine's own settings, not on the acceptor.

For a 12V game or kiosk, see the PT1-LB1-USA. For equipment that only has wall power, see the PT1-LB3-USA.
