Platinum Series

Pyramid Platinum PT1-LB1-USA Bill Acceptor (12V DC)

12V DC Platinum for games, kiosks and redemption equipment that already supply a 12-volt rail.

The PT1-LB1-USA is the Platinum to choose when the host machine already provides 12 volts. That is the standard Platinum power option, so most amusement, redemption and kiosk boards can feed it straight from their existing harness without an extra supply. Pyramid's part code decodes as a locking-type 500-note cassette (LB), 12 VDC power (1) and US currency (USA). Before you wire it in, check that the 12V rail has headroom: Pyramid rates the unit at 150 mA idle and up to 2.2 A while a note is moving.

Key features

  • Runs from the host's 12 VDC rail (±10%), Pyramid's standard Platinum supply
  • Pulse output from an open-collector transistor, plus Always Enabled pulse mode
  • Mars-style 600-baud serial mode for boards that expect it
  • Locking-type 500-note cassette (the L and B in the part number)
  • Configured and updated from a USB flash drive or a PC, with no DIP switches

Installation & setup notes

Power goes to pin 11 (red wire) of the 18-pin connector. In pulse modes, credits come out on pin 1 (brown wire), which is an open-collector output rated 5 to 12 VDC at 40 mA max, so make sure your board's credit input matches.

Pyramid notes that Platinum harness pinouts are often compatible with other manufacturers' acceptors. Even so, compare your game's pinout with the Platinum manual before swapping out an older validator.

Need wall power instead of a 12V rail? See the PT1-LB3-USA. For an MDB vending controller, see the PT1-LB4-USA.
