Apex 7000 Series

Pyramid Apex 7401-UB3 Bill Acceptor (110V, Coinco Bezel)

Wall-powered Apex with a Coinco-style faceplate for $1 to $20 notes.

The 7401-UB3 is the Apex to reach for when a machine runs on 110 to 120 volts AC and its door was cut for a Coinco validator. Power comes straight from the line, so no separate 12V supply is needed, and the Coinco-style faceplate lets it go in without reworking the panel. It reads $1, $5, $10 and $20 notes in any of four orientations and reports to the host over pulse or serial. Accepted bills go up into a 500-note plastic cassette (the U and B in Pyramid's part code), and dual-stage optical anti-stringing guards against fished notes. Calibration is automatic, settings are made with DIP switches or a PC, and firmware can be flashed when updates come out.

Installation & setup notes

Order the 7401-UB3 for a 110V cabinet whose door is already cut for a Coinco validator, such as a bill changer or a standalone kiosk.

The UB3 chassis carries its own 110VAC supply, so it connects straight to wall power in equipment that has no 12V rail — laundromat changers, standalone kiosks and older amusement cabinets. Output to the host controller is pulse or serial, selected with DIP switches.

The Coinco-style faceplate matches the opening left by Coinco BA30/BA50-series and similar validators, so a swap needs no panel modification.

Not sure this is the right Apex?

The Apex 7000 family shares one validator platform; models differ by power/interface, bezel and denominations. The 7401-UB3 is the 110VAC (internal power supply) / Coinco-style bezel / $1 – $20 (USD) configuration. Closest alternatives:

  • Need Standard Pyramid bezel instead (bezel)? Choose the Apex 7400-UB3.
  • Need 12VDC instead (power / interface)? Choose the Apex 7401-UB1.
  • Need 24V MDB instead (power / interface)? Choose the Apex 7401-UB4.
  • Need VFM-style bezel instead (bezel)? Choose the Apex 7402-UB3.
