Apex 7601-UB3 by Pyramid: 120V AC, $1–$100 Bill Acceptor with Coinco-Style Bezel
Mains-fed $1-to-$100 Apex for doors cut to a Coinco-style opening.

The 7601-UB3 is built for mains-powered machines whose door is cut for a Coinco-style validator and whose customers pay with large bills. Compared with the 7401-UB3, it carries the same Coinco-style bezel and AC supply but adds the magnetic head that brings $50 and $100 notes into the accepted set. Compared with the 7600-UB3, the reader, power and note range match, and the only change is the faceplate: Coinco-style here instead of Pyramid's standard bezel. It draws 110 to 120 volts AC directly, signals credits to the host by pulse or serial, and holds 500 notes in its cassette.
Where the 7601-UB3 fits
Pyramid's ordering code packs four choices into this part number: the 76 magnetic-head reader for US $1 to $100, the 01 Coinco-style bezel, a B cassette that holds 500 notes, and power option 3, the internal 120 VAC supply. A mains-powered changer or kiosk with a Coinco-cut door that needs to take fifties and hundreds calls for all four.
7401-UB3 or 7600-UB3 instead?
If the machine never needs anything above a $20, the 7401-UB3 keeps this exact front and AC supply without the magnetic head.
If the door is cut for Pyramid's standard bezel rather than a Coinco-style one, the 7600-UB3 gives you the same $1-to-$100 reader on AC power.
Mains connection
Power option 3 adds the 9-pin AC harness from Pyramid. The supply is rated for 100–240 VAC at 50–60 Hz and draws up to 0.7 A. On that 9-pin plug the black hot lead lands on pin 4 and the white neutral on pin 6, while the green ring-terminal ground wire fastens to a grounded-frame stud. Keep the +12 V line on the 18-pin connector disconnected whenever the internal AC supply powers the unit. For outlet-powered installs, Pyramid also sells a wall plug harness, part 05AA0012.
Credits on pulse or serial
Credits can leave the unit as pulses or as serial data. In high-level pulse mode, enable and inhibit are 120 VAC signals on the 9-pin plug, and each credit closes a relay across its pins 7 and 8, good for 1 A resistive at 120 VAC. Over serial, the two codes that matter most for this model are 86H for a fifty and 87H for a hundred.
Fitting the Coinco-style front
The Apex manual's minimum mounting rule applies here: fasten through at least the two uppermost horizontal slots, use posts no thinner than 4 mm, and keep the metal security plate in place. Wooden doors take the 95AB0001 adapter bracket kit, which comes with its own mounting hardware.

Installation & setup notes
Pick the 7601-UB3 for a bill changer, kiosk or similar 110–120VAC machine with a Coinco-style door opening that has to accept $50 and $100 notes. Pulse and serial outputs are both available.
On 120V Apex units, the U and D letters in the part number mark where the wire harness exits the chassis (rear on U-coded builds, side on D-coded builds). They do not mark a different stacking direction. A rear exit can pinch the harness in tight cabinets such as Arachnid dartboards; choose a side-exit D-coded sibling when clearance is tight.
Not sure this is the right Apex?
The Apex 7000 family shares one validator platform; models differ by power/interface, bezel and denominations. The 7601-UB3 is the 110VAC (internal power supply) / Coinco-style bezel / $1 – $100 (USD) configuration. Closest alternatives:
- Need $1 – $20 (USD) instead (denominations)? Choose the Apex 7401-UB3.
- Need Standard Pyramid bezel instead (bezel)? Choose the Apex 7600-UB3.
- Need 12VDC instead (power / interface)? Choose the Apex 7601-UB1.
