Apex 7000 Series

Pyramid Apex 7400-DB3 Bill Acceptor (110V, Side Harness Exit)

Wall-powered $1–$20 Apex with a side harness exit. Replaces Apex 7400-UB3 or 7400-DB3.

Replaces Apex 7400-UB3 or 7400-DB3. Inside a cramped cabinet, where the wiring leaves the validator can matter more than anything on the spec sheet. Pyramid's guidance for 120V Apex units is that the U and D versions differ only in where the harness exits: the rear on a UB3 and the side on this DB3. A side exit keeps the harness out of the gap behind the acceptor, where a rear exit can get pinched in tight installs such as Arachnid dartboards. Everything else matches the 7400-UB3. It runs from its own 110–120VAC supply, reads $1 to $20 notes, holds 500 notes, and uses Pyramid's standard bezel (7400 ends in 00, the standard-bezel code in the hosted Apex manual). Configure it with DIP switches or a PC.

Installation & setup notes

Reach for the 7400-DB3 when you are replacing a 7400-UB3 or 7400-DB3, or when a 120V cabinet leaves no room behind the validator for a rear harness exit.

The 7400-DB3 chassis carries its own 110VAC supply, so it connects straight to wall power in equipment that has no 12V rail — laundromat changers, standalone kiosks and older amusement cabinets. Output to the host controller is pulse or serial, selected with DIP switches.

Uses Pyramid's standard bezel footprint; check your cabinet's cutout against the Apex 7000 mounting drawing before ordering.

On 120V Apex units, the U and D letters in the part number mark where the wire harness exits the chassis (rear on U-coded builds, side on D-coded builds). They do not mark a different stacking direction. This D-coded unit is the side-exit build, so the harness clears tight spaces such as Arachnid dartboard cabinets where a rear exit can get pinched.
